Windows 8 Pro up for preorder at Amazon, Microsoft Store and many more
Windows 8 is available for preorder on a host of retailers such as Amazon, Best Buy, Newegg and the Microsoft Store of course
While we wait the official launch of Windows 8 scheduled for October 26, Windows 8 Pro (professional) is currently available officially for preorder on Amazon, Microsoft Store, Best Buy, Staples and many more online retailers.
The news comes from a Microsoft blog post published on Friday 12th October. As per the blog, consumers can now pre-book their copy of Windows 8 Pro on a host of online retailers. The post also revealed that starting Friday consumers can start pre-booking Windows 8 devices from Microsoft’s OEM partners such as Acer, ASUS, Dell, HP, Samsung and Sony.
According to ZDNet, online retailer Newegg has put up the following list of four separate products of Windows 8:
- Windows 8 Pro upgrade for $69.99
- Windows 8 Pro Pack – Product Key card (no media) for $69.99
- Windows 8 full version – OEM for $99.99
- Windows 8 Pro (Full version) – OEM $139.99
Both OEM products are available in 32-bit and 64-bit.
Earlier, Microsoft has already announced to upgrade consumers with Windows 8 Pro for a discounted price of $40. However, the offer ends on January 31, 2013. Also, anyone purchasing new Windows 7 PCs between June 2, 2012 and January 31, 2013 would be entitled to a $14.99 Windows 8 upgrade.
Meanwhile, Amazon is offering Windows 8 Pro for $69.99 with free shipping. The price has been set after a 65% discount upon the listed price of $199.99, while the item is listed to be released on October 26, the official launch date of Windows 8.
