Microsoft has officially unveiled the launch date of its new operating system Windows 8 for the PCs, which is on 26th of this month (October 2012). But one of the majorUS online retailers, HSN is emerging out to be the first to start taking the orders of Windows 8 machines

Over the weekend, HSN offered five systems that carry Windows 8 OS ready for sale. These five systems are only from two manufacturers, Acer and Getaway, and the selection includes, two Getaway laptops and one desktop machine and one Acer laptop and one Acer desktop machine. Their prices varied between $ 700 and 1200.

The high-end model laptop pricing $1200 is a 23-inch Gateway laptop with all-in-one touchscreen, built-in with Intel’s Core i5 chip, not the higher-end Core i7, and has 4GB RAM and 500GB HDD in it. Another Gateway system with 15.6 inch LED screen running Core i3 is priced at $700, which is also availed to pay in four flex payments of about $175 each. One of the Acer laptop is offered for $999, which is equipped with a 15.6-inch touchscreen LCD, Core i5 processor, and 8GB of RAM and 750GB HDD.

On the request of Microsoft, HSN has now stopped selling these machines, and promised to ship not before  October 30th  2012, for the buyers,  i.e., four days after the launch date.

Windows users can now download a trial version of Windows 8 from the official website of Microsoft, which is be expire shortly when the software will be shipped officially. By then, users have to upgrade to its commercial version, Windows 8 Pro, which can be purchased for just $15 through a special offer from Microsoft.

However, Microsoft is planning to release Windows 8 at a prestigious launch event in New York Cityon October 26th, 2012, and three days later, on October 29, 2012,  it will reveal Windows Phone 8, which is the next version of its mobile operating system. Both theseOSs use Microsoft’s new Live Tiles interface, which was designed with touchscreen devices in mind, although it will also work with a keyboard and mouse on PCs and laptops.
