Coolpad, like any other Chinese mobile company, believes in giving optimum value for your money. What you won’t see in them is a premium for brand image, or marketing for that matter. It also however, unlike some of the Chinese companies, tries to bring in something new – and we have seen that in the case of the first Smartphone they brought to India under the Coolpad branding – Coolpad Note 3. It was the first device to have a fingerprint sensor at that price point and quickly became on of the best-sellers. Followed the Coolpad Note 3 Lite, which reportedly sold about 25000 units within 12 seconds of their first flash sale.
Now within days of releasing their meatiest device yet in India, the Coolpad Note 3 Plus – the company has already started teasing another device release on the 20th of this month – a Flagship this time! If the teaser video posted on Facebook is to be believed, the phone should be a beautiful all-metal phone with latest specsheet. We don’t know the price yet, but I’m hoping it’d be a value for money device Coolpad is known to bring in. The only lead we have till now is this might be the Coolpad Max that the company has released in Indonesia last month. The Coolpad Max was already launched in China last year, and is available in three variants – the 3GB+32GB version sells for about 2499Yuan, the 4GB+64GB version goes for about 3299, and the premium 4GB+128GB version will set you back by 3599Yuan. We are not 100% sure whether it’d be the Coolpad Max, but if it is then it could just be one of the best Smartphones to buy at whatever price category it is launched.
It is the right time to launch new Smartphones in India as we crossed 1 billion mobile subscribers – the biggest in the world, but also India is one of the most challenging and diversified market in the world for the Smartphone makers. Here one type of device doesnot work. Here quality in expense of price doesnot work. Here consumers want maximum quality out of a reasonably priced products, and that is the reason the Chinese makers like Coolpad are finding success here. If the next phone is the Coolpad Max then we believe the company will complete the Product line to give customers enough options at the prices that won’t burn your pockets. Coupled that with something new everytime, and Make in India initiative, and things look as exciting as ever.
And that’s why we believe the next Coolpad could be another winner, like all the ones before it.
