Top five smartphones to look for at the IFA Berlin event
With the IFA left just 2 days from now, many of you must already be excited getting assorted with that crazy and exhausting crowd. That has to be by default because at the end of the day it is the IFA. And like me, probably you would want to bring back home the ringing bells of cutting edge technology, of those unexplored still. Endemically, people have always been interested in the unexplored ones and that’s what our point of discussion would be. Here goes my list of five smartphones that have all capabilities of stealing the IFA Berlin 2012 show.
Samsung Galaxy Note 2:
The Samsung Galaxy Note 2 is going to be the cynosure in IFA, especially with the kind of rumors it is flooded with.
Shortly, after the Galaxy S3 made to the shelves, there are rumors about the next version of the Galaxy Note. The Galaxy Note is a popular device from Samsung, and along-with the S-Pen and the S-Memo it is quite appealing. After the Galaxy s, S2 and S3, it is only natural for Samsung to come up with the Galaxy Note 2.
As of latest, rumor has it that the Galaxy Note 2 would be featuring a 5.5 inch display (1680 x 1050) as compared the 5.3 inch (1280 x 800) of the Galaxy Note. The Note 2 is also rumored to have the quad core Exynos chipset, 2 GB of RAM, an 8 megapixel camera and 4G/LTE. Most probably the Note 2 would run on the Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich, upgradable to Android 4.1 once released. The screen will again be of a Super AMOLED variety and let’s hope, the camera to have an improved sensor and even better lenses.
LG Optimus G:
Few days back we reported about LG’s preparation of a quad-core powerhouse smartphone, the LG Optimus G. AndroidMX has managed to get leaked images of the most powerful LG smartphone giving us a hint on the model number i.e. LG-E973.
From the images, it certainly is evident that the phone will sport a 4.7 inch IPS capacitive display. Reportedly, the LG Optimus G will feature a 4.7 inch IPS capacitive display and a Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 quad-core processor. Qualcomm has confirmed this in a press release and has also stated that there are few more LG handsets in the pipeline which will powered by the S4.
“Qualcomm will supply the latest Snapdragon™ S4 Pro platform to LG, enabling LG’s new quad-core Smartphone, which is currently in production with anticipated commercial availability in Korea in September and global rollout to follow. This smartphone will be the newest commercial and global device to offer a quad core CPU Snapdragon S4 processor along with 3G/LTE multi-mode capabilities, delivering a superior mobile experience for voice, web browsing, games, user interfaces and other graphics applications”
Now the fun thing is that this CPU will support 4G Voice over LTE (VoLTE) and not just traditional 4G LTE. It will also ship with 2 GB of RAM and a 13 MP camera resting on its back. Apart from this, Android 4.0.4 has been confirmed.
HTC One X Plus:
The HTC One X Plus caught attention in a Nenmark2 benchmark. The handset appeared as an unpublished set by the name of PM63100. The benchmark results didn’t show anything significantly different apart from an overclocked 1.7 GHz quad-core processor.
This one’s doomed to run Jelly Bean. HTC has been quite favorable towards the One X also.
HTC Zenith and HTC Accord:
The HTC Zenith and Accord both would be based on Windows 8 platform. The HTC Zenith will reportedly sport an 8 MP camera and the Accord would settle at 5 MP.
A quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon and a dual-core processor MSM8260A will power the Zenith and Accord respectively.
