Time is changing for the smartphone manufacturers. They are facing wide range of challenges in building newer smartphones.  Now the base demand of the next generation smartphone is high speed processors for the handsets. Most of the upcoming smartphones are coming with the dual-core processors with improved graphics. Now this improvement in the processing speed comes with a hefty price tag too. Not the case with all manufacturers though. We at ADG tried exploring smartphones which comes with minimum of 1 GHz processors and at the minimal rate across market. Below list is a result of that research.

1.    Motorola Defy Plus:

Its PLUS and not the original Defy which has helped Motorola gain this position. After increasing the processing speed to 1 GHz and an up-gradation in the OS version, the Motorola Defy Plus is the only contender for this slot.

Powered by a 1 GHz, it runs on the Android v2.3 (Gingerbread) OS. A Li-Po, 1700 mAh battery ensures standby time of 237 hrs (2G) and a talk time of 6hrs (2G).

On the display side, it has a 3.7 inches TFT touchscreen providing a resolution of WVGA, 854 x 480 Pixels.

For capturing, it’s loaded with a 5 MP primary. Additional features include Alarm, Calendar, Calculator, Noise Reduction, VibraCall, Predictive Text, CrystalTalk PLUS and Voice Input. Sensors like Accelerometer, Ambiant Light Sensor, Proximity Sensor, Digital Compass are present as well.

Micromax, with its ingress in the smartphone market has demonstrated its capabilities. This is a classy phone designed to suit your needs. Notably, the Superfone A85 also has a gesture control interface, something relatively novel in the market. A very logical approach to this ranking held this phone at the second slot. It has a dual core processor (1 GHz ARM Cortex-A9). However, it has only 1500 mAh battery which is not sufficient enough to satisfy the hungry processor. And which is why it couldn’t replace the Defy plus position.

Powered by a 1 GHz ARM Cortex-A9, Dual Core processor, it runs on the Android v2.2 (Froyo) OS. A Li-Ion, 1500 mAh battery ensures talktime of 3 hours (2G) and a standby time of 250 hrs (2G).
