Now Sony SmartWatch can boast of a whole new range of apps that can be really helpful during our daily schedules. The apps are the result of the efforts by third party developers and more are on the way

The Sony SmartWatch made Android wearable on your wrists and the wrist band-like Android powered device brought the world at your fingertips by fitting snugly on your wrists.

And now Sony‘s blog-site reports that since its release developers have managed to come up with a whole wide range of fantastic apps some of which are truly useful. And that’s not all; extensions for many existing apps have also been put up by the developers which could really turn your SmartWatch into an essential part of your day-to-day chores.

Let’s just peek through some of the apps gone over by Sony reps,

Google Maps:

This app syncs with your phone enabling GPS along with Google Maps on your SmartWatch. All you need to do is simply enter the destination on the smartphone and activate the GPS on the SmartWatch, and you’ll see the app display your current location. It even tracks your route, provides guidance and also allows you to switch to StreetView.

QuickNote:

This little app allows you to take down quick notes, lists or numbers on the go. You can even access existing master plans from your smartphone or save new ones. The app allows you to choose between a 4×4 and a 3×3 button keyboard layout as per your ease for taking down quick notes.

Universal IM:

This one is made for those who like to live up to the title of true social animals. It allows you to stay connected with friends and family through a host of instant messaging systems such as Skype, Facebook, Google+, Instagram and more are on their way.

SlideShow:

This app enables you to show off all your photo albums on your SmartWatch. It collects all the photos including screenshots and images from your smartphone and displays them as a slideshow on your SmartWatch. The app also allows you to pick a specific photo folder if you don’t feel like showing all of your photos.
