Samsung has introduced their brand new in house processor, the Exynos 5, with a very powerful SoC (System on Chip).
This new chipset rocks a pair of Cortex-A15 cores for a new level of mobile power. The SoC built is on 32nm production techniques rocking two 1.7GHz cores additionally. This enhancement to the A15 architecture ensures that the new system works somewhere between 1.5 to 2 times faster than the current A9 architecture.
Specific support for screen resolutions has been provided up to 2560 x 1600 WQXGA screens making visualization better. The resolution limits here quite interesting and somehow supports the rumors towards the Samsung’s preparation of an 11.8-inch tablet.
The processor will ship with 1080p 60fps hardware acceleration, 3D graphics as well as support for USB 3.0, SATA3, OpenGL ES 2.0 and OpenCL support. Moreover the Exynos 5 will bear the ability to beam content to wireless displays.
Samsung has also managed to reduce power consumption, something which smartphone owners have always craved for. The energy usage is said to be down by 30-percent when compared to larger sized 45nm chips. Moreover, Sammy has included power-saving routines for the displays in smartphones and tablet, a characteristic we know consumes maximum power.
Best of all would be; if we get to know on 29th Aug that the Galaxy Note 2 features this!
