Samsung Galaxy Gear S2 is now available to pre-order in US at $349. However, one can expect the device to be delivered starting November 6, same day that online shops will be selling the device. The smartwatch is also available for only $299.99 but with a 2-year contract. Users can get as add-on to their current plan from Verizon by paying additional five dollars ($5). T-Mobile will also be selling the device from November 15 with a $5/month deal to deliver the smartwatch with its basic, talk, text, and data plan. The smartwatch with no data plan will cost you $15 per monthT-Mobile. The Silver and Dark Gray T-Mobile Samsung Gear S2 will cost you $360.
The latest Samsung Gear S2 and Gear S2 Classic are the first Samsung smartwatches with circular designs. The rotating bezel is being touted as a highlight of the new wearable. The Gear S2 Classic will come in a black stainless steel case and a black leather band, while the Gear S2 will come in a dark gray case with a dark gray band or a silver case with a white band. Both the Samsung Gear S2 and Gears S2 Classic smartwatches sport a 1.2-inch circular Super Amoled display with a screen resolution of 360 x 360 pixels and a pixel density of 302ppi.
The new smartwatches are powered by a 1 GHz dual-core processors along with 512 MB RAM and 4 GB internal storage. They run on a Tizen OS-based interface. Both devices are IP68-certified which makes them dust and water resistant. Other features include accelerometer, gyroscope, heart rate, ambient light, and barometer sensor. Both the Gear S2 and S2 Classic will be available without a 3G modem. The smartwatches support wireless charging and are backed by a 250 mAh battery with a typical usage of 2-3 days.
