Although there aren’t any specs to mull over, the image itself points at the fact that this one’s going to be a mid-range device. To support this fact, the reported price of $99 (with a 2 year agreement) will come into play. Another leaked image portrays the device to come with easy to use starter mode and on device help and interestingly a device with some pre-loaded Amazon apps. There isn’t the slightest mention of the Google Play store here but it will be a little bit difficult to digest here if Sammy excludes the Google Play store. Traditionally, they haven’t.

The starter mode is probably aimed at users aspiring to switch over to a smartphone. Once the users become dexterous on the usage, they can head over to installing custom ROMs and stuff like that.

Not a bad move I would say. While the high end game is still on, Samsung wants the low segment cream too. I am talking about competition against manufacturers like Pantech who recently unveiled theur share of a low end smartphone, namely Pantech Marauder featuring a starter mode too.
