Motorola RAZR i officially announced, flaunts a 2GHz Intel processor
Motorola RAZR i has been officially announced and it boasts of a 2GHz single core Intel processor. While it is fastest clocked processor, the handset also comes equipped with an 8MP camera capable of 10-frame burst mode
Motorola has announced its first ever Intel powered smartphone the Motorola RAZR i at an event in London. Although its looks are a bit similar to the RAZR M, what sets it apart is the 2GHz single core processor from Intel and despite of being single core it has been claimed to be faster than other dual core phones.
According to NDTV Gadgets, another unique feature is the 8MP camera which is capable of up-to 10 shots per second (10-frame burst mode) and takes only a second to boot, and to top it all the handset also comes with a dedicated camera button.
The Motorola RAZR i features a 4.3-inch Super AMOLED screen that comes with an advanced edge-to-edge display and a resolution of 960 x 540p. The handset runs on Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich and comes equipped with a water resistant coating covering the back. Inside we have the aforementioned 2GHz single core Intel processor and 1GB of RAM.
The base model offers 8GB of internal storage which is expandable through a microSD card slot. Then we have the 8MP camera capable of 1080p HD video recording. Other features include GPS, micro USB 2.0, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, NFC and a 3.5mm audio jack.
The handset comes packed with a 2000mAh battery while weighing 126g and measuring 8.3mm in depth.
Apart from the Android Beam app, Motorola has added some apps of its own including the SMARTACTIONS, which triggers specific apps and the Circles Widget that allows quick access to notifications, weather, time and more.
Motorola has partnered with some major carriers such as Orange, T-Mobile, Phones4U, Virgin Media and Tesco to set the RAZR i for an early October release. The smartphone is expected to be launched in the UK, France, Germany, Brazil, Argentina and Mexico and although the price details are yet to be disclosed, the handset has been announced to be offered in three variants of 8GB, 16GB and 32GB of storage space.
