Motorola will finally be launching its second-generation Moto 360 smartwatch in India on Tuesday. The company has sent out press invites for an upcoming event scheduled to be held in New Delhi on December 1. While the smartwatch has not been explicitly mentioned in the teaser, there are enough hints [ circular watchface and #MotoTimeHack] that the new Moto 360 is coming on Tuesday. The smartwatch was unveiled in September at the sidelines of IFA 2015 in Berlin. It will most likely be available on Flipkart at a price of Rs 17,999. The Moto 360 is priced at $249 in the US [the cost varies depending on configuration].
The second-generation Moto 360 smartwatch comes in two sizes: 46mm/42mm design for men and only 42mm size for women. The company claims that the Moto 360 has the largest screen-to-case ratio of any smartwatch available today. It features an elegant circular (watch-like) backlit display with a diameter of 1.56 inches. The smartwatch comes with a Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protected LCD display to protect it from minor scratches and bumps, with a resolution of 320 x 290 pixels resolution and a pixel density of 205 ppi. The smartwatch is also IP67-certified, making it dust and water resistant (withstanding immersion in up to 1 metre of water for 30 minutes.)
The Moto 360 is powered by a 1.2GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 quad-core processor along with Adreno 306 GPU clocked at 450MHz, 4GB internal storage and 512MB RAM. The 42mm variant comes with 300mAh battery, which offers up to 1.5 days of mixed use with Ambient off. The 46mm variant comes with 400mAh battery and offers up to 2 days with ambient off, and a full day with ambient kept on. Connectivity options include Bluetooth 4.0 LE and Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g. The Android Wear smart-watch comes with an accelerometer, ambient light sensor, and a gyroscope, apart from a vibration and haptics engine. It also has an optical heart rate monitor (PPG) and a pedometer. The Moto 360 also supports voice control and will work on all smartphones running Android 4.3 or higher.
