Microsoft announces SkyDrive for Android
Redmond announced an updated version of SkyDrive for the existing platforms and also much to our delight an exclusive app for the Android operating system.
Every tech website, every tech magazine you read; it’s virtually a cloud war everywhere now. Even high memory games are moving to cloud now. And off-lately companies have started rolling out their cloud versioned apps to mobile and tablet platforms:Google Drive, DropBox, SugarSynx, Box and many more. It was rather surprising to see Microsoft not introducing a SkyDrive app for Android; the most popular platform on today’s date. It was there for Windows and OS X though.
Yesterday,Redmond announced an updated version of skydrive for the existing platforms and also much to our delight an exclusive app for the Android operating system. It will however be made available on the Google Play store in few weeks time and not immediately.
So you will be able to play around just like you do with your preferred cloud storage options. IfRedmondhas already decided to launch this, they definitely have in mind the immense competition that prevails already. The additional features would then be an interesting thing to anticipate for.
Let’s just wait for the official launch then.
