An article in thinkdigit reports that LG has announced the official launch of its flagship smartphone the Optimus 4X HD and the mid-range Optimus L5 today in India. As per the article, the superior Optimus 4X HD commands a handsome Rs 34,990, while the Optimus L5 is priced at Rs 13,199.

LG had made clear of its intention of matching step-to-step with other superphones such as Samsung’s Glaxy S3 and the HTC One X when it announced its flagship device, the Optimus 4X HD for the first time back in February.

Armed with a 1.5GHz NVIDIA Tegra 3 processor, the Optims 4X HD features a 4.7-inch HD-IPS display with a resolution of 1280 x 720p. It offers 1GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage which is expandable via a microSD card slot. The device sports an 8MP camera with LED flash that is capable of recording full HD videos (1080p at 30fps), while a 1.3MP front camera enables video chatting.

Running on Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich the Optimus 4X boasts of NFC, this allows the use of Android Beam. Other notable features include Bluetooth 4.0 as well as DLNA support.

The device runs on Android 4.0 and is modestly powered by an 800MHz Qualcomm Snapdragon processor along with 512MB of RAM. It offers a 5MP camera and 4GB of internal storage expandable up-to 32GB via microSD. The L5 also comes equipped with NFC as well as Bluetooth 3.0 and a decent 1500mAh battery that offers up-to 9.2 hours of talktime.

With the pair of devices LG is intent on making its presence felt in the Indian market, especially in the category of quad core powered devices. Consumers; on the other hand should benefit as they would have more options to choose their superphones from.
