SamMobile has received a leaked promotional image from an inside source at Samsung. Purportedly the new Samsung Galaxy Player a.ka  Samsung YP-GP1, the phone features a massive 5.8 inch screen. This is like 5 inches bigger from the existing Galaxy Note (5.3 inches) and 3 inches bigger from the Galaxy Note 2’s rumored 5.5 inch display.

The image has SamMobile watermarked on it and this shows that the popular website has all credibility for obtaining this. Though not all, we do have all major specs to look at and speculate if it ever comes out to be true.

The phone is to run the latest version of ICS (Android 4.0.4) and a dual core 1GHz CPU will supposedly take care of its processing needs. The 5.8 inch display will be of qHD with resolutions of 540X960 pixels. Moreover, Sammy has its own UI incorporated as well; Touchwiz and Motion UX.

But it seems that Samsung has focused mostly the display size. Usually if we come across such a huge display in a smartphone, we would obviously crave for a quad-core processor. It’s dual core here however. Similarly on the image capturing capabilities also, only a 3.0 MP camera rests at the back and a VGA on the front.

Regular features include 1GB DDR2 memory, GPS, T-DMB, Gyro Sensor, Micro USB, Stereo speaker, FM radio, Bluetooth (v 4.0) and Micro SD slot up to 32GB.

The phone weighs 223g and the battery is a standard Li-ion 2500mAh.
