9to5mac: iPhone5 will cost the same as iPhone4s
9to5Mac and CNet have reported that the price tag of iPhone5 would vary from $199 to $399 that has been tagged for the earlier model iPhone 4S.
An increased display size, a new 9-pin dock connector, a new operating system in the form of iOS6 and a new camera would not increase the iPhone5 price tag; analysts at 9to5 say. 9to5Mac and CNet have reported that the price tag of iPhone5 would vary from $199 to $399 that has been tagged for the earlier model iPhone 4S.
Apple is all set to unveil the next generation iPhone at the yerba Buena center next Wednesday. So, this news has particularly surfaced at a time when all other competitors are striving to stay in the competition with competitive prices. A few examples would be the $99 Motorola Droid RAZR M and of course the Nokia Lumia being made available at $100 and which saw a price cut of fifty percent last quarter.
Apple was anyways working on the price matching with other authorized retailers. Moreover, since its release the iPhone 4S has seen price reductions from Target and a $50 cut by Sprint.
