Imagine my surprise when I found Google Drive available on my Android phone today
Rumors about Google Drive has been doing rounds for some times now, but like the Lock Ness Monster, or whatever Google compares it to, it suddenly appeard on my update available apps list. In fact it automatically started downloading, installed and there I have the Google Drive on my main menu. The first impression was good, a clean installation almost needed no attention from me, the icon is more like you stiched two ends of teh Google Wave icon, and took away the vibrant color shades to get a triagular icon with yellow, green and blue adorning all the arms.
By the way Google prefers to label it as “Drive” rather than Google Drive, which is an expected trend for the search engine giant.
Google Drive, as Google describes it, is a cloud storage system where you can create, share, collaborate, and of course store all of your stuff. It also helps in collaborating on a joint research project or maybe planning a wedding with your fiancé or tracking a budget with the team. You can upload and access all of your files, including videos, photos, Google Docs, PDFs and beyond.
Announcing the immediate availability on their official blog, Google explains the features in a easy, subtle way. The main features of Drive are -
- Create and collaborate
- Store everything safely and access it anywhere
- Search everything
