ICE X launches Android based tablet: the ICE Xtreme 7 for Rs 6,999
ICE Xtreme 7 is a 7-inch tablet powered by Android 4.0 and is the maiden tablet from the newly emerged ICE X Electronics. The tablet is available for Rs 6,999 via ICE X online store, while select consumer electronics chains are expected to have the device soon
According to the Times of India, the newly formed company ICE X Electronics has launched an Android-powered tablet for Indian consumers. The tablet has been named the ICE Xtreme 7 and is available for a price of Rs 6,999.
Following the launch, the company also announced that a second tablet named the ICE Xtreme-II, would soon be launched and has revealed that it would be the world’s first ever tablet to feature wireless charging. The announcement included a pico computer as well that would transform regular LED/LCD TV sets into smart computing devices.
The ICE Xtreme 7 features a 7-inch display with a resolution of 800 x 480p and runs on Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich. The tablet is powered by a 1.5GHz Allwinner A10 processor along with Mali 400 GPU and 1GB of DDR RAM. The tablet also offers ample storage space that includes 8GB of NAND storage, 8GB of T-Flash as well as a microSD that could further expand the storage capacity up-to 32GB. The device also features a 2MP front facing camera to enable video chats.
Connectivity features include Wi-Fi, HDMI port, USB 2.0 port which supports 3G via dongle and a mini USB port.
ICE X Electronics Managing Director Ravi Jakhar has told reporters that the ICE Xtreme 7 tablet is targeted at consumers from Tier-I and Tier-II cities, especially the youth and the young professionals.
As gathered from the Times of India, the ICE Xtreme 7 is expected to be sold through ICE X online store to keep a tab on the distribution costs, while it is also expected to be available across select consumer electronic chains across India.
