Instead of re-scheduling the event, Google thought it better to announce one of the most anticipated phones of this year, the LG Nexus 4.

Anticipated not because of “LG Nexus 4” but because of “Nexus 4”! Of course, this is not the way Google wanted but a lot of competitive factors pitching in propelled the Mountain View based company to officially announce them.

Specs aren’t extraterrestrial. We have already heard of all in the copious rumors that floated around the web ever since Onliner.com got their hands on a couple of images. Following that it was all Nexus. Nevertheless, for people still naïve about the specs let me tell you that the 4.7-inch handheld will run on Android 4.2 Jelly Bean, a Quad-Core Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 Pro clocked at 1.5 GHz, 2GB RAM, 8.0 MP rear shooter, 1.3 MP front shooter, 2,100mAh battery and NFC.

Internal storage variants will be 8GB and 16GB. However I am afraid because the press release doesn’t mention any external storage/micro SD. We have been hearing about a possibility of micro SD slot and Google excludes it this time, I will be more than unhappy.

Prices without the slightest of doubt are reasonable; $299 for the 8GB variant and $349 for the 16 GB variant; both unlocked and 3G (WCDMA), HSPA+ compatible. No LTE though!

Earliest availability date is Nov 13 across US, UK, Canada, Germany, France, Spain and Australia. Rest of the geographies will follow suit by the end of Nov.
