HCL launches the ME Y2 3G tablet for Rs 14,999
HCL has launched a 3G enabled tablet, the HCL ME Y2. The tablet features a 7-inch display and is available for Rs 14,999 starting today. The tablet comes bundled with attracting offers from Hungama and Bigflix as well
HCL has added yet another device to offer to its Indian consumers. The latest to bolster the line of HCL products is the ME Y2 tablet which supports 3G connectivity. According to NDTV Gadgets, the tablet is available for Rs 14,999 and it is reported to go on sale starting today through stores across India as announced by HCL.
The tablet comes preloaded with a host of apps including the Hungama app which also comes with a free three months subscription enabling customers to download and play unlimited music, videos and ringtones as well. Movie enthusiasts can rejoice too since Bigflix is offering unlimited streaming of movies for a month at just Re 1. Beside these, the tablet also offers the ThinkFree Office Mobile to create, view, edit or share MS Office docs, while customers can have their fill listening to Bollywood music through the Saavn app.
The HCL ME Y2 tablet features a 7-inch multi-touch display offering 1024 x 600p resolution and runs on Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich out of the box. The device is powered by a 1GHz Cortex A9 processor and 1GB of RAM. On board we have 8GB of internal storage expandable up-to 32GB via microSD. There’s a 2MP rear camera and a VGA front camera for video chatting.
For connectivity, the ME Y2 offers Wi-Fi, 3G and Bluetooth along with mini USB and mini HDMI port. And lastly, we have a 4000 mAh battery to provide the necessary power back-up.
And that’s not all; the tablet comes with its own ME App store offering over 15,000 Android apps optimized for the tablet including apps for LinkedIn, Twitter and many more.
