Gigabyte announces the S1082 Windows 8 tablet featuring a 10-inch display
Gigabyte has new tablet to offer, the Gigabyte S1082 and it comes powered by Windows 8. The 10-inch tablet features an Intel Celeron processor and is expected to go on sale soon after the launch of Windows 8 on October 26
A new tablet from Gigabyte is on its way. The company has announced to launch a 10-inch tablet called the Gigabyte S1082 and it comes powered by Windows 8. According to Liliputing, the new tablet bears some resemblance to Gigabyte’s earlier S1081 Windows 7 tablet. The tablet is expected to become available soon after the official launch of Windows 8 on October 26.
As gathered from Liliputing, the Gigabyte S1082 tablet will range from $599 to $799.
The Gigabyte S1082 features a 10-inch multitouch capacitive display with a resolution of 1366 x 768p and runs on Windows 8. It comes powered by a 1.1GHz Intel Celeron 847 dual core processor, while the RAM ranges from 2GB to 8GB. Consumers would get to choose between a hard drive (upto 500GB) and solid state drive disk (upto 256GB) for the internal storage.
Other notable features include HDMI, VGA, Ethernet, microSD card slot, 2 USB 2.0 ports, Wi-Fi 802.11n, Bluetooth 4.0 and an option for mobile broadband as well.
Gigabyte also offers an optional docking station with additional ports, a DVD drive, stereo speakers and a subwoofer as well.
With an SSD the Gigabyte S1082 would weight around 1.75 pounds and with an HDD the weight goes up to 1.87 pounds.
