Now that both HTC and Nokia have unveiled the first of their Windows Phone 8 powered smartphones, we all would like to know which one has a better offering. Here we’ll compare HTC’s flagship Windows Phone 8 (WP8) smartphone the HTC 8X with Nokia’s flagship WP8 smartphone the Lumia 920. The comparisons have been made based on information gathered from studentnewise.com

Let’s see how the HTC 8X and Nokia Lumia 920 stand head-to-head.

Display:

HTC 8X has a 4.3-inch LCD2 display with 1280 x 720p of resolution at 341 ppi.

The Lumia 920 scores here with a bigger 4.5-inch IPS display that offers a higher resolution of 1280 x 768p at 332 ppi. The display also comes with the Super Sensitive Touch technology which even works with your gloves on.

Processor:

Both HTC 8X and Lumia 920 are powered by Qualcomm’s S4 dual core chips clocked at 1.5GHz and paired with 1GB of RAM.

Internal Storage:

The Lumia 920 offers 32GB of internal storage which is way more than the 16GB that HTC 8X has to offer.

External Storage:

Neither phones offer any microSD card slots for memory expansion.

Camera:

One big advantage the Nokia lumia 920 has over the HTC 8X, is the former’s superior 8.7MP camera with its PureView technology, dual LED flash and image stabilization technology.

Meanwhile, the HTC 8X comes with an 8MP shooter with LED flash.

However, the HTC 8X has a better 2.1MP front camera than the 1.3MP front camera of Lumia 920.

Audio:

The HTC 8X scores here with its Beats Audio, whereas the Lumia 920 comes with a more regular Dolby stereo.

Battery:

We know that a larger battery doesn’t always mean a longer battery life. This depends on how well the power is utilized by the hardware. But having said that, the Lumia 920 packs a larger 2000mAh battery with the Qi wireless charging feature, which the HTC 8X certainly cannot beat with its 1800mAh battery alone.

Final Verdict:

It’s really hard to choose between the two since both phones are so close in terms of specs. However, the Lumia 920’s larger and better display along with the PureView branded camera might just give it an edge over the HTC 8X. But at last it all comes down to the buyer’s preferences, so no clear winners here.
