Apparently, the iPad 3 is not the only tablet to boast a 2048 x 1536p resolution on a 9.7-inch screen. According to Liliputing, Chinese tablet maker Cube has announced to launch the Cube U9GT5 tablet with a display that matches that of the iPad 3.
The Cube U9GT5 is currently available for preorder for $266 from Cube’s website. Or you can opt for the already available Chuwi V99 Retina tablet from Pandawill for $290.
Apparently, there’s not much difference between the Cube and Chuwi tablets and both brands sport pretty similar designs.
Let’s take a look at the specs that are common to both models.
Both Cube U9GT5 and Chuwi V99 feature a 9.7-inch screen with a resolution of 2408 x 1536p at 264 PPI and runs on Android 4.1 Jelly Bean. The tablets are powered by a 1.6GHz Rockchip RK3066 ARM Cortex A9 dual core processor along with Mali-400 quad core graphics and 1GB of RAM. On board there’s 16GB of flash storage expandable through a microSD card slot.
The tablets also feature a pair of 2MP front and rear cameras along with Wi-Fi 802.11n, Bluetooth 2.0, access to Google Play Store and a 10,000mAh battery that offers up-to 10 hours of usage. The Cube tablet also comes with an HDMI port.
