The Development team at RIM has now come up with a Siri like personal assistant

The BlackBerry10 alpha phase development is not ceasing and will not till it launches, I guess. Although the beta update is still adolescent in terms of stability, but yes, the Dev team this time has added a Siri like personal assistant.

If you press the play-pause button on the right side, a personal voice assistant will prompt you to ask something. Press the button, a gentle beep and your voice search starts! The search type is kind of universal bringing a variety of options like your BlackBerry appworld, Applications on your phone. You could ask for calling or messaging your contacts and also for cancelling them. But as I have mentioned earlier, it’s not quite stable and is evident from the video.

Still, the Canadian manufacturer is trying its best to regain its lost share in the smartphone market. There is one thing noticeable. The voice of the personal assistant is quite similar to that of Siri. This could indicate that this feature is being built by Nuance, the same company behind Apple’s voice activated personal assistant. And this could well be the final BB10 feature too in case it hasn’t tampered anything with the 604 so-called Siri patent filed at USPTO.

Whatever it is, now with google’s android jelly bean assistant Google NOW, Apple’s Siri and this one by RIM, it would be worthwhile to watch the game. And add one more player in the line if Microsoft comes out with one in the WP8 platform!
