ASUS announces their S series Ultrabooks
ASUS has recently announced their S46 and S56, the S series Ultrabooks which are also equipped with optical drive and discrete graphics
Asus is introducing their new S series Ultrabooks which were earlier displayed at the Computex show. The two models that are announced are S46 and S56, which are 14inch and 15.6inch respectively. According to ASUS these products are the only products in their segment to achieve a true all-in approach to features.
With the all-in approach they are trying to point to the fact that it is equipped with an optical drive as well as discrete NVIDIA graphics. ASUS has equipped NVIDIA’s GT 635M discrete GPU which is about 3.5x faster than integrated Intel HD4000 graphics according to them.
The official specification of these devices has not been announced yet, but they are expected to be equipped with Ivy Bridge processor. For storage these devices might have a 1TB HDD as said at the computex show. However at the show another 256GB SSD was also mentioned but the release didn’t indicated any SSD.
The screen will provide 1366×786 pixels of resolution. Other specifications also include the Intel’s WiDi, 2x USB 2.0, 1x USB 3.0, full VGA, full HDMI, and full Ethernet. Both these models also sport optical drives and both have detachable batteries and user upgradable RAMs.
The exact price has not been announced yet but, both the models are expected to be priced somewhere around $800 (44,543) for S46 and $1000 (Rs 55,679) for S56. We will keep you updated about these models release in India as soon as we get an update about it.
