Ahead of Releasing Its New OS, Microsoft Has Updates For Built-in Windows 8 Apps
While everyone all over the world is waiting to witness the launch of Microsoft’s new Operating system Window 8, the company has got a concluding makeover to Windows 8 and for it applications.
Recently in their official blog, Microsoft has announced that it will be releasing certain updates for many of its built-in Windows 8 apps. Obviously, these updates will also be on hand to the vendors to incorporate them by default with their PCs shipping in the future, and for the users who have already installed this OS in their system have to get the updates from the Store app. The Store tile will notified as soon as the updates are presented.
Among all Bing is the earliest to get the app updated, and other apps will get the updates slightly late leading up to the launch date. Most of these updates will brings performance and reliability improvements to these apps. The following are the list of apps getting update and their change-log:
SkyDrive:

- Rename and move folders and files.

Mail, Calendar, People, and Messaging:

- Complete IMAP account support.
- Accepting and declining invitations in email.
- Capturing and updating your account picture.

- Search for a contact within the Messaging app.

- Crop and rotate photos.
- New auto-curated collage slideshows.
- View photos and videos on network locations in your Pictures Library such as Windows Home Server, network shares and Home Groups.
- Move through photos in your Pictures Library even when you open them from the desktop.

- Bird’s eye view.
- 3,000+ indoor venue maps.
- Driving directions hints.
- Improved navigation and layout.
- Improved customization, including custom pushpins and roaming options.
- Integration with Bing and Travel apps.
Bing:
- Richer search results for local content and images.
- Bing rewards integration.
- Use zoom on your search results to see related queries.
- Use the file picker to select an image from Bing to use on your lock screen or in your other apps.
