As the release date for the Windows 8 platform approaching, more and more laptop manufacturers are introducing their new devices for the latest version of Windows 8.  Acre has also started to add device to their line of devices which will run on Windows 8. Acer has introduced a few devices at the IFA which includes two Ultrabooks, a tablet/PC hybrid and a standalone tablet and also an all-in-one device.

These devices that are introduced with the release of the Windows 8 platform and will include Iconia W5 hybrid laptop/PC, the Iconia W7 tablet, Aspire S7 and Aspire M Ultrabooks the Aspire V5 notebook and the Aspire U all in one. The Acer Iconia W5 is a 10.1Inch tablet which has detachable screen which can also be kept on the keyboard for making it stand. This device has 3G connectivity and also includes microHDMI and micro SD ports. According to Acer this device will be capable to provide a battery backup of 18hours.

The Standalone tablet called the Iconia W, which sports 1920 x 1080pixels display which is of 11.6inch. The display is capable of sensing 10-point touch. It also has a 5megapixel camera and the battery is capable to provide a back up of about 8hours. An optional keyboard is also available as an accessory to this device.

Two Ultrabooks that are also being introduced are called the Aspire S7 and the Aspire M, which runs on Intel Core processors. The Aspire S7 sports a 3.3inch display while the Aspire m comes in two variants of 14inch and 15.6inch. The Aspire S7 is only 2mm thick which fulfils the Ultrabook requirements. It also sports an auto light sensing keyboard along with a battery which is capable to provide a backup of about 12 hours. The Aspire M includes a muscular discrete graphics from NVIDIA and has an edge to edge touch screen and has a backlit keyboard option.

Along with these devices Acer will also release a traditional notebook called Aspire V5, which will also have a touch screen and will have two variants of 14 and 15.6inch screen. Both of them will sport a optical drive and will run on Intel Core processors equipped with Nvidia GeForce GT series graphics. These devices will be equipped with Acer Instant Access, which allows the V5 to remember most visited sites for Internet access in just 2.5sec.

Acer will also introduce an all in one device named as Aspire U, which is 27inch in size with a 35mm profile and a full HD edge to edge 1920 x 1080pixels of display. The device can be tilted from 30-80 degree with one hand and the device comes with a swivel stand capable of banding up to 0degrees. The device is capable of sensing 10-point of multi touch while with L stand and wile on the swivel stand it allows up to 65 touch points. Its web is also capable of sensing hand gestures. It is equipped with a Blue-ray drive, multi in one card reader, a TV tuner and HDMI port. It runs on a third generation Intel Core processor. So far the price of none of these devices is known. They might be confirmed by the time they get ready for release.
